Finding Your Interests
In this episode, students were encouraged to take the Holland Assessment and it was described in some detail. The Holland types were explained. The types are typically displayed in a hexagon shape and were shown in a graphic rendering.
Ways in which the Holland code assigned to a student can be used to determine interests, majors and future careers were addressed as well. Students were encouraged to use their individual code assessments to find opportunities to job shadow or to connect with others in the careers in which they are interested to be able to make an informed decision regarding their trajectory based on first hand information. They were also encouraged to seek a college that supports their interests even though their interests may change over the course of their time at college.
